A young American violinist, Andrew Sords, who has already achieved a celebrated career as a soloist, will appear for Palm Springs Concerts at the Richards Center for the Arts on Sunday, January 26, at 2 p.m.
Having appeared with some 300 orchestras on four continents, the critics endorse Andrew Sords as a fully formed artist whose performing skill is exceptionally “heartful and soulful.”
After a performance in Cleveland, “classical.com” reported that “the stunner of the afternoon was a breathless performance of the Kreutzer Sonata with Sords swishing through Beethoven’s notes with giddy aplomb.”
Born in Delaware and raised in northern Ohio, Sords begged for piano lessons at age five, then switched to the violin. In his teens his musical adventure took him to the Encore School for Strings, the Cleveland Institute of Music, and Southern Methodist University.
As his career developed, he garnered many prizes in concert performances, and he began cultivating the media and the public with innumerable interviews, profiles and appearances.
One critic has said “his performing technique is somewhat unique, with a bowing arm that shows a suppleness in allowing attention to a variety of phrasing.”
This concert is the third in Palm Springs Concerts’ slate of classical performances for 2024-25.
Please note: All sales final. No refunds.
