James Berry
3rd Vice President
James T. Berry is a native Ohioan who moved to Palm Springs in 1976. He is a 1958 graduate of the University of Notre Dame with a BA in English Literature. He attended graduate school at the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University in 1961.
He joined the U.S. Marine Corp, serving as a reservist for six years in the Chicago area until 1966.
Living in St. Charles, Illinois, he founded Editorial Services, Inc., a public relations and advertising firm serving the landscape and nursery industry. He owned and published Midwest Landscaping Magazine.
In Palm Springs, he ran various printing and graphic arts companies, and with his wife, Evelyn, owned and operated ETC Publications, Inc., which specialized in publishing books for schools.
He has written four books of historical interest, including a romance novel The Firelands; an historical overview of Joan of Arc’s ordeal The Miracle of Orleans; a brief history of the French Revolution Charlotte and Her Revolution, and a book of local interest The People Who Made Palm Springs.
Jim and Evelyn have four children, seven grandchildren and a great grandchild. He has been on the PSCCA board since 2001.
