Elizabeth Press
Historian

Elizabeth Press joined the PSCCA Board of Directors in 1994. A native of New York, she holds a B.A. degree in Romance Languages 1958 from Wagner College, NYC, including Junior Year at Laval University, Quebec and post graduate at the Sorbonne University, Paris. Years later, she pursued Health Education for an MPH 1997 from Loma Linda University.

She was employed in NYC at The Ford Foundation (1959-1961) in the Office of Vice President of Overseas Operations. In 1961 she relocated to San Francisco as Executive Assistant to President of Golden Gate College. She married Robert Press at Grace Cathedral, San Francisco in 1963 and later worked in the family Press & Press Construction Company which built custom homes throughout the desert area. As a volunteer, she presented for American Cancer Society annual average of 35 health fairs, with nutrition informational exhibits for 18 years. In past 5 years, she has served on the team as Home Stay Host Chairman for American Documentary Film Festival and remains on the P.S. Community Concert Association BOD as Hospitality Chairman. Her interest in music in Palm Springs dates back to 1963 as a Board member with the Sunday Afternoon Concert series at Desert Museum.

Spring & Fall months are spent in her childhood home, Rhinebeck, NY, Mid Hudson Valley, with membership in the Chamber Society since 1990 and Rhbk Historical Society. She and Robert have two sons in the cyber security/ computer fields, both residing in LA & Simi Valley.
